Back start of cruiseSaturday 12th August 2007, Second Week
Last night folks were greeted by one of my "famous" curries - everyone is still alive!"
On thing I did manage was to get a picture of 6 "Challengers" in a row, well their sterns...
Today was an early start from Nantwich to give us a chance of getting round to Anderton in time to get a good mooring.
Along the way we passed a couple of "flashes", these are large open bits of water, possibly related to the salt workings in the area, but I'm not sure
We didn't quite make Anderton as we got stuck behind a couple of slow boats, but we got moored up in a fairly quiet location, just before we reached a large salt works. We got the barbie out which was set up on the towpath, an dinner came along nicely. The rain held off until we had just finished which was a good thing.
The salt works, just a few hundred yards along the canal from where we moored and had a peaceful barbie.
