Today was a "go nowhere" day, basically make sure that the boat was full of fuel and water, and empty of unwanted materials (aka get a pump out). A walk into town to do a bit of shopping, then back and do a bit of washing and try to clean the brass.
Wandering around, killing time I spied the Railway Hotel, nothing unusual in that you might say, and it right next to the station, where it should be. But above the main door stands a figure of Elvis, in full song.
Later in the day Roger and Judy are due to arrive, so the solitary life will be over for a week. This means I will have to do a bit of a tidy up, as Ihas covered a lot of the boat with my stuff, like the computer. In preparation of their arrival a curry is quietly bubbling away on the stove, nothing special, just a generic one this time.
Even later in the day Esther is due to arrive, I've never met her, but she's known Judy for a few years and works for an NGO in Northern Iraq. When I asked Judy about Esther's dietry needs Judy replied "She usually lives in Kurdish Northern Iraq she HAS to be a meat eater - otjerwise she'd never survive!!". Promises to be fun.
As I write this the yard is filling up, there are now 6 "Challengers" moored in a line, stern on to the wharf, unfortunately I can't get a good shot of the line up. So here's one I took earlier with only a couple in the line.
